Members Awards and Exhibits

SVAC  Juried Members Show:  Joan Menard and Chris Watts won honorable mentions.

Chris Watts and Debra Sheffer won honorable mention Awards at the VMRC Art Show in Harrisonburg, VA.

Peg Sheridan: taught a "Crash Course in Color", designed to improve paintings by teaching the basics of the effective use of color in watercolor.

Katharine March: Exhibited her work in the "Art on the Green" show in Lexington in April.  She also participated 
in the Lynchburg Paint Out that same weekend (April 28- 30)

Deborah Baird: Is currently showing at Shenandoah Pizza through the end of May.

Chris Watts: will be showing at Shenandoah Pizza during June and July.

Janet Dance, Julie Farrell, Eliza Hoover, June Jordan, Joan Ranzini, Karen, Rosasco, Debra Sheffer, Astrid Tuttle, and Chris Watts: Have been accepted to show works in the VMRC annual Juried show May 28- June 30. 
The opening reception is May 4th, 2-4 PM.

Astrid Tuttle: is participating in a group show at Blue Mountain Coffee in Staunton through June 1.  She is also showing at "Art at the Mill" in Berryville, Va through May 20.   Katharine March and Wendy Lam are also showing in that exhibit.

Janet Dance: will have an exhibit of fifteen paintings at Staunton Augusta Art Center May 19-June 24. Opening reception Friday, May 19 from 5 to 7 pm.  Also, Janet will have one painting in fifth annual juried art show 
at the "Art Speaks on the Bay"
Gallery, Matthews, VA.

Karen Rosasco: will continue her monthly critiques at the Shenandoah Valley Art Center. The next two scheduled dates are May 18 and June 8 with a break for the summer and resuming on September 14.

Karen will be joining forces with Sue Rosen for a two day abstract art exhibit at the Caldwell Studio, 10 South New Street, Suite 6 on Friday May 5 and Saturday May 6. The opening reception is Friday night from 5-8 pm. The exhibit will be followed the next day (May 6th) by a community painting project entitled "One City, Many Voices". All supplies will be provided. The final piece will be sold by way of silent auction to benefit the Beverley Street Studio School. The auction will end on June 30 at CoArt.
