Lives in: Staunton, Virginia Located in the Beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Population = about 22,000. A great place to live and visit. Other pastime: Physician since 1980 Specialty = Radiology A very VISUAL specialty…. I have the privilege of observing and analyzing images (though mostly in black and white) for hours on end. Interest in Art: Since childhood I doodled on all my notes throughout school………And still do. Art Education: Several classes at the Beverley Street Studio School in Staunton BSSS is a non-profit art school with an amazing collection of professional artists teaching classes year round. I started in 1993 with “Beginning Drawing” and have taken a variety of classes each year since. Art Education: Travel Workshops With Beverley Street Studio School Perugia, Italy Abiqui, New Mexico Antigua, Guatemala Independent Trinidad & Tobago Bath County, Virginia Art travel-workshops have been among my favorite vacations: beautiful destinations with like-minded people. Co-Art Gallery, Staunton Co-Art is a Co-operative Art Gallery in downtown Staunton. It was established in 1998, and has over 40 artist members. In order of frequency of use, I would say my mainstays are graphite, water media, colored pencil, printmaking, oil. Preferred Subject, Theme, Style: Lots! I experiment with a variety of subjects and styles. I tend to return to landscapes, but have done portraiture, wildlife art, still life, and linear non-representational. |
